About Ramos Spaans

Ramos Spaans Spanish courses in Groningen are led by Lucy Paola Ramos, born and raised in Arequipa, Peru in South America. At a young age, she worked as a tourist guide. During those years, she travelled extensively throughout her beloved Latin America. So she made a special trip through 5 of the 6 countries which belonged tot the Inca’s Empire: Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina, as well as discovered Mexico in A part of Central and North America and Spain in Europe.  

In 1986 Lucy moved to the Netherlands. Eight years later she switched to education. Lucy now has over 29 years experience teaching Spanish language and cuture to Dutch, German citizens and people from other nationalities. She worked in Zwolle at the Tourism Education Center, taught Spanish language and culture at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, was lecturer at the Hanze University Groningen (Faculty of Economics, International Business and Management School). In addition she was several times a guest lecturer at the Fachhochschule Emden-Leer (Fachbereich Wirttschaft) in Germany.

Thanks to her vast travel experience throughout the South American continent, Lucy is now an expert in the field of Latin American cultures. Moreover, Lucy Ramos has acquired a large network in Latin American countries and Spain allowing her to expand her knowledge and expertise.

Since 2015, Lucy Ramos also provides Dutch courses for Hispanics and imports handmade Peruvian products from Cusco, Peru. In this way she contributes a bit for the welfare of a shelter for teenage mothers and their children.

Lucy Ramos' first job as a tourists guide in Arequipa and Colca Canyon, Peru.
